Our programmes are structured as training courses that should enable these young people to reinsert themselves in the educational system via a vocational stream.

Our courses offer learning sessions where we impart the core fundamentals of the field of study to prepare our students to begin to work in industry to acquire real-life hands-on experience - a key component of their learning process. This structure benefits both the students and their host company. It offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities, skills and knowledge and enables the host company to assess their worth as well as the benefit from the extra pairs of hands to handle their day-to-day workloads. This will lead to early job offers to those who are diligent and conscientious and show their potential - a recipe for a better career option and a
lasting employment.

Methodology

Our students will spend up to 70% of their time in industry via our network of industry collaborators, and 30% in the classrooms. Here they learn the core theories and concepts. At industry, they put or see them in practice. Whilst with industry, they receive an allowance for their pocket expenses.

Our students are likely to be a heterogeneous collective. Their variety and different nature generate a diversity of educational needs which we will address via a group of supportive elements at our Centre as well as in industry which we will facilitate to help our students achieve, to the highest degree possible, the objectives which have
been established for their training.

Developing students in general capacities side by side with their specific ones is the basis of our open and flexible learning model. This model considers each student’s personal and different characteristics, their social context, learning rhythms and psychological development. We strive to assure that each learning step is both the base and the point of departure for the following learning step as we guide them through. Our goal is to offer our students a broad-based personal development side-by-side with their core technical specialization to equip them with an all-round development so that they can unleash and liberate their real and full potential at the workplace to the delight of their employers.

This is done from a position of optimism, encouraging enthusiasm and by awakening their motivation. We employ the latest learning technology and methods. We adapt our students’ learning to our students’ future professional needs.

With our industry collaborators, we will work to ensure that the structure will benefit all parties. We assure minimum disruption to the day-to-day business of the collaborating industry. We also undertake to ensure that, wherever they are attached to, our students will be an asset rather than a liability.

Assessment

We use a continuous assessment model. In other words we value students who work constantly, diligently and consistently, not just the grades obtained in a final exam or project. We take into consideration the progress made by each student from the very beginning and not just their ability at the end of the course. This includes their time in industry, the commitment and seriousness they display whilst at work as progressively reported via an established format by our industry collaborators.
